The framework predicts a “soft landing” scenario rather than catastrophic collapse: real utility exists (unlike pure speculation), and physical constraints dominate (creating natural moderation through supply limits rather than sudden financial constraints). However, the 5+ year lead times for power infrastructure create hysteresis—once investment commitments are made, they’re difficult to reverse, creating risk of overbuilding if demand moderates faster than expected.
This analysis demonstrates prospective constraint mapping: identify which constraints bind most severely (power grid capacity), when they’ll bind (2025-2030), and what breaking points they create (stranded asset risk, demand moderation through ROI requirements). The constraint landscape itself predicts capital flow patterns without needing to forecast psychology.
The framework resolves the apparent tension between reflexive unpredictability and systematic analysis. Reflexivity is real—perceptions influence reality through feedback loops. Keynesian coordination is real—markets align around expectations creating multiple equilibria. But these phenomena themselves are constrained by physical, informational, institutional, and network structures that create predictable boundaries. Understanding those constraints enables prediction of capital flows even in highly reflexive environments—not by forecasting psychology but by mapping the architecture within which psychology operates.
Markets coordinate on expectations, but those expectations must flow through liquidity constraints, operate within balance sheet limits, satisfy institutional mandates, overcome coordination costs, and work within network topologies. These constraints transform reflexivity from chaotic unpredictability into bounded dynamics with analyzable phase transitions, measurable thresholds, and predictable breaking points. Soros and Keynes identified the reflexive surface phenomena. The constraint framework reveals the deep structure beneath.
